Dog Friendly Getaways Within 2 Hours Of London

Burlington, Vermont is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in New England. With incredible outdoor adventures and a hip, laid-back atmosphere, Burlington is as much a playground for dogs as it is for their companions. You will find lots of fun things to do with your puppy. Ride the Burlington Greenway along the shores of Lake Champlain, then stop to sample local beer at one of the city’s dog-friendly breweries. Burlington brewpubs that allow pups on the patio include Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery, while places like Switchback Brewing Co also allow dogs indoors. Church Street Marketplace, one of New England’s most famous pedestrian (and dog-friendly) malls, has many dog-friendly restaurants and shops. If you’re pet-friendly, Made Inn Vermont, a charming bed and breakfast near downtown, offers a comfortable home away from home for you and your dog.

When the dog days of summer roll around, there’s no better place for your dog than Cape Cod! With miles of scenic trails, irresistible thrills and plenty of outdoor activities, Cape Cod is the perfect summer destination for people and dogs alike. You especially like to visit the Cape Cod National Seashore. This sunny stretch of sandy beaches and trails allows dogs to be kept off-leash even in high season. Then quench your thirst at Provincetown Brewing Company. They are so dog-friendly (and socially conscious) that a dog leash in the beer garden is emblazoned with the words “Bite Me Racists.” There are also a number of pet-friendly places to stay on the Cape. Pamper your pooch at the luxurious Chatham Barrie Inn or try “pushing” with your pup at Nickerson State Park Campground.

Cape Cod National Seashore is just one of the many reasons to visit Cape Cod with your dog.

For a seaside getaway with your dog, visit Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Just five miles south of Portland, it’s the perfect getaway without venturing too far. At the southern end of Fort Williams State Park, where the famous Portland Head Light is located, there is a large grassy area where dogs can run and play. Of course, you can’t visit Maine without trying the local lobster rolls, and Bite into Maine has an outdoor food truck in the park with pet-friendly picnic tables. Higgins Beach is a popular place for little ones to frolic in the sand and splash in the water. After a long day of fun in the sun, relax at Inn by the Sea, a luxurious beachfront resort that offers the ultimate in pampering for pets and their owners.

You and your dog will love exploring Nantucket together. This tiny island off the coast of Cape Cod has few traffic lights and plenty of New England charm. From the ferry ride where you see many other pet owners, it’s clear that Nantucket is a place that welcomes canine visitors. Choose from a wide variety of dog-friendly activities, from hiking the Sconset Bluff Walk to exploring historic lighthouses. The city has several dog-friendly patios, including breakfast joint Black-Eyed Susan’s and eclectic American bistro Queequeg’s. Sit back and stay a while at Brass Lantern Inn’s tranquil bed and breakfast, which welcomes four-legged friends to select rooms for a nominal fee.

This truly dog-friendly town in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom is a must-see. Stowe, known as the Ski Capital of the East, attracts visitors from far and wide to its premier resort every winter. But with plenty of outdoor activities every season, Stowe is the place to vacation with your dog.

For the big adventurer, Smuggler’s Notch State Park offers miles of trails through the beautiful Green Mountains area. For something more low-key (but just as fun), you’ll take your sweet dog for a walk along the Stowe Recreational Trail. This 17-mile paved trail is full of dog-friendly restaurants and breweries. There are also a number of dog-friendly places to stay in the area for all budgets. Luxury resorts such as the Trapp Family Lodge, Topnotch Resort and the Lodge at Spruce Peak offer pet-friendly amenities. However, if you’re looking for something more affordable, consider staying with your dog at Field Guide Lodge or The Stowehof.

If you’re looking for a dog-friendly weekend getaway with your pup, I recommend visiting Dink Groot! A small home holiday. This dog-friendly resort is located in the Catskills region of New York, about a two-hour drive from Manhattan. We spent two nights and three days at the resort for some rest and relaxation. I also wanted to take Gatsby on a little adventure.

Pet Friendly Nature Getaway To Relax

This resort is located in the Catskill Forest and features 11 small cabins on wheels. Depending on the chosen one, they can accommodate 2 to 7 people. Each house has its own unique name (our house was called Oki). These homes have a kitchen, full bath with flush toilet, heat/air conditioning, WiFi, TV with Netflix so you can watch your favorite shows, private patio with gas grill for barbecuing and fire pit.

There is also a fenced play area for your puppy. If your puppies get dirty while playing, there is a dog cleaner to clean them up.

The selection already offers everything you need! It’s like a mini-hotel on wheels in the forest! The only thing I brought was Gatsby’s raw food and food for cooking and grilling.

Take your pup to explore the resort. You can get to the waterfall by hiking along Catskill Lake.

You’ll find s’mores kits, spices and cookware, mugs, and local crafts for sale. Some of these items can be purchased with cash or Venmo. You can borrow cooking spices, DVDs, books and board games during your stay.

Each little house has a gas grill for grilling. We brought meat to grill and relaxed with some light music on our front deck.

Walk the grounds of the oldest Buddhist temple on the American East Coast! You’ll also find a seven-story jade Buddha, the only one in the US. This is a great place to recover and practice meditation with your pup.
