You can book these apartments online, just be sure to add a note at checkout with your dog’s size, size and name. Dogs cannot be left alone in the room. Out of respect for other guests, dogs are only allowed on leashes in hotel lobbies and outside public areas.

But the advantage is that you are sure of yourself. And the location can’t be beat. We were able to walk downtown and the mountain shuttle stopped right in front of the hotel. The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a very special place to stay in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Per their pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms for an additional $50 per night: Peacham, Danville, N.Y. Danville, Maidstone and Lost Nation. You can select the “Pets Allowed” option to book your room online. The inn is so pet-friendly that a friendly golden retriever works the front desk, and there’s even an animal sanctuary on site. We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham room which was cozy yet comfortable. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the wood-burning fireplace. We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for larger dogs. Even with Roscoe it was very comfortable and the bathrooms are down the hall (although at least they are private). The inn’s quaint character may not be for everyone, but it’s in a great location within walking distance of the city center. The owner is very friendly and offers suggestions for pet friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.

Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort isn’t just for dogs, it puts them first. Their pet policy states that canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxury cabins and select guest houses with cookies, dog beds and Vermont bowls.
