Top Dog Friendly Beaches In The United States
Depending on the location, many Golden Isles beaches are dog-friendly. St. Simons Island’s East Beach and Massingale Park are great places for dogs to enjoy the sandy beaches and play in the salty ocean water. Jekyll Island is also a great place to enjoy the beach with your dog.
Animals are not allowed on St. Simons Island beaches from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Dogs are allowed on the beach from 6:00 pm to 9:00 am and do not need to be on a leash, but must be under the direct supervision of the owner.
On Jekyll Island, dogs are allowed year-round on most beaches and parks. Animals must be on a leash at all times and the maximum leash length is 5 meters. No pets are allowed on the beach between 600 meters north-east of the South Dunes Picnic Area and the St Andrews Picnic Area.
Located on the north side of St. Simons Island just off Lawrence Road, Frederica Park’s dog park is the perfect place to spend countless hours hanging out, playing Frisbee or relaxing with a favorite furry friend. In addition to the dog park, Frederica Park also includes a children’s playground, hard surface jogging track, picnic shelters and public restrooms.
