Third: Dig a hole in the ground for the glass bottle to fit in, then place the bottle (cap side first) in the hole.

Step 2: Place a towel in the tub or sink over the water so that the potted plants do not scratch the tub or sink.

Step 3: Place the plants in the water on the cloth. Make sure that the plants are in a clean pot.

Step 1: Cut the cotton string to determine how many plants you need to water. Make sure there is enough string so that you can get several inches in the soil and have a few in the vase.

Step 3: Wrap the plant in a plastic bag using a wooden stick. Make sure the plastic is big enough so it doesn’t wrap too much around the plant. Treat as needed.

Step 1: Drill six holes on the side of the plastic water bottle and about three holes on the bottom of the plastic water bottle.

Step 2: Water your plant’s soil first, then place an empty plastic water bottle in the hole dug in the soil. Make sure there is an inch or two sticking out of the lid and the water bottle.

We hope that these methods are easy for you and that you all have a good holiday this summer, without worrying about keeping your plants healthy in your home. . A potted plant in the house is a happy place. My husband and I love going to the outdoors, but we also love the wild-like explosion of local plants in our apartment. This combination presents a challenge, as you can only get one friend to water your jungle house most of the time, even if you bribe them with extravagant gifts from foreign lands.

It has made the plant solutions we have very expensive. I decided to make a pipe, but my husband was worried that it would leave the house without anyone.

So I came up with the following mess solution, simple and very leak-proof: You need a plastic bag filled with water and a hose to pump the water out quickly.

This tutorial will show you how to do it, but you should know that the needle you use determines how the water comes out of the bag.

Note: Not all plants will be happy with this method of watering, which keeps the soil moist. Ivy, for example, likes to dry out before being watered again.

How To Tell If You’re Underwatering Your Plants

1) Thread. Many types will work, but cotton thread is the best for licking purposes. If you’re going long, polyester might be better to make sure the cord doesn’t fray.

3) adjustable plastic bag. The size depends on how big the water tank you need, which depends on how much water you want to give the plant per day and for how many days.

4) A very fine needle. A good one would be a #10 needle, about 0.5mm = 0.02″ thick. However, any needle in the #8 – #12 range will work fine.

Note: A “regular” needle is usually 6 sizes and larger. The size of the needle determines how fast the liquid will come out, so you should look for the thinnest one. It is easy to add more threads to the bag, or add several small bags to the plant pot, to increase the water level, but you cannot stop the water from flowing through the large hole.

How To Water Plants While Away

If you have some time to plan ahead and experiment, there are some good things to think about to make sure your plants are happy while you’re away.

What you want to see is how much water you need to add to the plant per day. The way to fix this is to think about how much water you usually give the plant and how often.

For example, if you usually water your plant at least 2 cups once a week, you want your bag to provide ~0.29 cups of water to the plant each day (2 cups / 7 days).

2) How big of a plastic do you need to carry water on the whole trip?

For example, if your plant needs 0.29 cups of water per day and you are gone for 20 days, you would need a bag that holds (0.29 cups per day) x (20 days) = 5.8 Have a cup of water.

On my last trip I used “snack” and “medium” size Ziploc bags, so you can get the amount of water you need out of them:

Obviously you will have to make a bag to see this, but you should check how much water comes out of the bag over time. This depends on the size of the needle you are using.

To test the water level, make a bag with a string, then fill it with water and place it over the measuring cup with the string pointing down. Wait an hour, then see how much water falls into the glass. Multiply that by 24 hours to get how much water the bag will provide per day.

If that is not enough, you can add more straps to the bag. As long as you use the same needle, you can double, triple, etc. Flow rate is constant.

Tie both ends of the string in a fairly large knot (ie tie two or three times in the same place.) The plastic on the bag is soft and the small knots sometimes slip through the needle hole.

The thread will act as a string to draw water from the bag through the hole made by the needle.

Note that thread is not optional. The water flow becomes very inconsistent if you don’t have a line holding the hole open.

I like to put the wick near the bottom of the bag, in the middle, but also through one of the lower sides of the bag. That way, when the bag is full of water, I can put the rope directly on the soil of the plants.

It’s important not to accidentally open another hole in the bag when moving the needle down, so I recommend pressing the tip of the needle against your finger (as shown in the first picture) with your hand.

Once you have the needle you want to thread, push the needle into the bag, and cut the thread.

Hold the bag open and submerge it in the water, lifting it slightly to allow gravity to fill it. To get the amount of water in the bag, I find it easier to close the bag more under the water.

How To Make Self Watering Plant Bulbs From Recycled Bottles

As soon as you lift the bag out of the water, the water starts to flow out of the needle hole and drip onto the thread. This is what waters your plant!

As the bag comes out of the water, transfer it to a pan or container so that you can transport it to the factory without littering the floor.

Place the bag in the plant pot with the bulb touching the soil. The water flows into the soil at a regular rate, gradually removing the bag in the process.
