Good Dog Vacations Reviews – Good customer service, like a smile, goes a long way and is especially invaluable in the entertainment, leisure and tourism industry. We Brits have a lot to do with bad customer service. In fact, we are famous for tolerating it all over the world. Fawlty Towers is fun until the day you actually want to experience the same level of customer service.
Hotels tend to seek your preferences by telling you how good they are and what extras they offer over the competition to encourage them to book with you.
Good Dog Vacations Reviews
Many of us have stayed in hotels, good and bad, but let me tell you about an industry that will surprise you. Not all hotels, no matter how fancy, opulent or basic in terms of bricks and mortar or extra amenities, actually offer excellent customer service.
Dog Friendly Holiday: A Review Of Lusty Glaze Beach Cottage
This is no more relevant than hotels, hostels, self catering accommodation etc that market themselves as ‘dog friendly’ but in reality the best are ‘dog only’.
Being the owner of two non-toxic, pest-free and non-breeding dogs, I feel a certain compulsion to get them out and about whenever I get the chance.
Have fun doing this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those hell-bent dog owners who force their dogs onto others or let them jump on you despite your obvious level of fear and discomfort. We have all met both dog owners and non-dog owners
No, I’m just a normal guy, the company of his dogs and the joy of putting them in the car and entertaining them can always stay with me.
Charming Dog Friendly Condo With Pool, Hot Tub, Fireplace, Wet Bar, & W/d Reviews, Deals & Photos 2024
This also applies on public holidays. I don’t use boarding channels. Absolutely nothing against them – I’ve worked in boarding kennels – they’re just not for me.
I love when my dogs enjoy a little break from the routine, see new places and dig holes in new soil that have not been dug before. I want my dogs to feel the same sense of relaxation that I do, to come home feeling like they’ve had a new experience in a new place, met new people and left a lot of new holes in new places.
I’m not a ‘campsite or caravan’ person. As with boarding kennels, I don’t like bricks and mortar around me when it starts to rain. That means I need to find a pet-friendly hotel, bed and breakfast, or similar accommodation when I go. Luckily for me, the internet and all the brochures are full of pet-friendly accommodations, so I can go wherever I want and take my dogs with me.
But there is a problem, and it is a big problem; Many hotels and other accommodation providers describe themselves as pet friendly when in reality they are completely unfriendly. As you might think, a paradox, let me put it another way.
East Austin Hotel Review
What some companies mean when they describe themselves as ‘pet friendly’, I like to translate ‘pet tolerant’.
In other words, they accept pets under pressure, but if you show up at the reception during your holiday with bright eyes, a bushy tail and a wet nose, the receptionist cannot turn you away, but he or she should have every right to serve you last . . , keeps you waiting from suitable clients, scares you, holds your nose, makes a big fuss about extra cleaning coming from your account, gives you a list of places ‘you can’t bring insiders’, warns of boredom. Other hosts will advise you on basic hygiene issues and make you feel like a second-class citizen carrying bubonic plague instead of two truly well-balanced companion animals.
All this, Dog Friendly Weekends: 50 UK Breaks for You and Your Dog, written by Lottie Cross as part of the well-known Pratt series of travel guides.
Lottie Cross is a travel writer and dog lover who has been taking her dogs on adventures for work for years. With her on everything from easy plane flights to the Isles of Scilly to city breaks in Lincoln, her dogs travel just like her. Lotti has written dog-related travel articles for The Telegraph, The Times, Woman & Home and Women. During her travels, she noticed a marked difference between hotels and attractions that claim to be dog-friendly; In many places, your dog will be inside, but not all places really welcome him. That’s why she’s made it her mission to find Britain’s most dog-friendly destinations.
Doggy Friendly Hotels In The Uk
Helpful, focused and does exactly what it promises to do, which is to provide a range of options for people who want to take their dogs to places where everyone is truly welcome.
The book has been sitting on the kitchen table for a few weeks and everyone in my house has been asking if I’m planning a getaway with Danny and Christopher – my two canine friends. It happens, I don’t. But that book instilled in me the motivation to accomplish something on the calendar.
In fact, some of my dog-owning friends who visited said the same thing. Dog-friendly weekends: 50 UK breaks for you and your dog. After a quick perusal of the pages, they have also started planning short breaks in the UK where they can keep their pets in the fun.
So if you’re a dog owner and want to find somewhere in the UK for a truly dog-friendly holiday, day out or mini break, it’s really easy.

I decided to book Sofitel Sentosa as my family wanted to enjoy a beach day. I’m glad I made the choice because we had a great time!

β’ As most hotels have weight restrictions, I often hold back as my son Kaito weighs 13kg. However, Sofitel Sentosa is not! This is good news for owners with older puppies. π±
β’ No limit on how many pets are allowed! SGD$88++ will be charged per extra pet including extra comfort basket.
β’ The entire hotel is pet-friendly, where you can freely explore with your pets! π except in the pool area, which prevents children from swimming
β’ Plenty of grassy patches for your pets to do their business! So no need to worry.
Planning A Dog Friendly Trip To Vashon Island
I found the facilities provided to be adequate and allowed me to bring less during my stay. I will share more about what I came up with in this post.
β’ Crib β It’s a good size for my 13kg baby. Large dogs cannot enter!
β’ Pee pad β A large sized pee pad is included. If you need more, call room service ποΈ
β’ Daily meals β I brought packaged frozen meals to thaw in the fridge. Fill the trough with warm water to warm the food before feeding.
Sykes Cottages Dog Friendly Accommodation Review β Instadoggo
Forget asking for a room with a bathroom, as every room at Sofitel Sentosa has one! Enjoy a nice hot tub for you and your pet! They offer little packets of bath salts for the guy, but I recommend getting a nice bath bomb to hold on to!
I think Sofitel Sentosa was the first hotel to allow dogs in the dining area. I was worried about leaving Hana and Kaito in the room, only to have them run through my breakfast buffet and then return to the room. Don’t worry now, we can slowly enjoy our food!
For dinner, a la carte with a variety of dishes to choose from! Their Indian butter curry is amazing, try it! π€€
There is a staircase that connects from the pool area to Tanjong Beach. It is very practical if you are not driving. We checked in advance to do all the paperwork
