While most shelters do not allow pets, I have tracked many from southern Queensland to far north Queensland.

Southern Queensland’s wine region, the Granite Belt, including central Stanthorpe, is a great place for a dog. The Rooftop City Tourist Park on the outskirts of the city offers a number of amenities to homeowners, including affordable pets.

Choose standard cabins. All studio-style cabins sleep up to four guests, with twin and twin beds, as well as kitchens and bathrooms. There are also pet-friendly family cabins, which usually have a double bed and a wood-burning stove in a separate bedroom.

The park is located a short walk from the city center and has a swimming pool, gym, covered barbecue area and plenty of space to walk freely in the park.

If instead of going on holiday with your dog to Queensland you want to go to the beach, the Gold Coast Dog Caravan Park is Kirra Beach Tourist Park. The caravan park has a dog area with flexible equipment and there is also a K9000 dog wash outside the building, essential for cleaning up after a challenge in the sand. There is also an on-site boat ramp and a popular fishing and crabbing area.

Of The Best Pet Friendly Cabins In Queensland

Park Point is conveniently located in Vernon. While most beaches in the Hervey Bay area are dog-friendly, Point Vernon Foreshore is generally off-leash. There are three separate sites near the caravan park, including the road between Aplin Street and Pines Park.

Wilderness Cabin Accommodation, Near Brisbane, South East Queensland

The trailer park is located on the north side of Fred Couties Avenue, a few yards east of the Nielson Park Dog Park. Dogs are also allowed on a leash on the stretch of Bargara beach accessible from the Spianata, but please note some signs indicating that dogs are not allowed.

A great place to keep your pets as you travel north from Queensland is the Mt Larcom Tourist Park. This park is located on the Bruce Highway near the Gladstone turnoff.

As permitted in all areas of the park with and without electricity, pets are allowed inside the park if declared at the time of booking. Up to two animals are allowed per family unit, even indoors, as long as they are kept in bed. Please note that puppies and children under 6 months are required to sit.

There are two easy spaces in the park. One is to climb up to the sight of the rising sun, checking its “big picture” of the sunrise in time. There is also a second outdoor area, on the lower level: both are not fenced. Poop bags are also provided at all locations on site and pet towels can be requested from the office.

One of the best parks in Charters Towers is Dalrymple Tourist Van Park, 2km north of the town. The park overlooks the golf course, which is effectively a no-go zone, and also has pet carts.

The caravan park features a swimming pool, garden views and budget cabins. Each can accommodate four or six people, with a double or queen-size bed and one or two double beds, plus a kitchenette and bathroom with shower. Please call the park before requesting a pet, there is an additional charge of $10 per pet per night requested.
